Karry Hart - Live At The Sky EP Review

Live At The Sky is the brand new EP from Irish American artist Kerry Hart. The EP was recorded in the Joshua Tree Desert using only analog recording equipment and acoustic instruments. This gives the EP a very special back to basics feel.
The EP begins with "If Only" which features a beautiful string arrangement and the delightful sound of chord changes which I just can't get enough of. It's actually very reminiscent of Elliott Smith's style of playing. Kerry delivers her vocals with a healthy dose of raw emotion and really creates an engaging story. "Aaron" is somewhat haunting thanks to the backing vocals and the cascading strings. If you close your eyes while listening it's easy to imagine seeing Kerry recording this in the desert under the cover of darkness.
Kerry Hart's sublime vocals are on show on the third track "Everlasting Light" which is very stripped back to allow the vocals to really shine. "Lay Me Down" is an incredible song that could easily pass for an old Irish ballad. This song will go down very well on Kerry's upcoming Irish tour. The EP concludes with "Wanna Be In". Again it is a song of impeccable musicianship and flawless vocals.

Live At The Sky is a truly brilliant EP which leaves me with great excitement about the upcoming album that is due to follow in the near future. Live At The Sky will be released on December 8th and will be available on Spotify and all the usual streaming sites.

Logan J Parker - Cry Cry Cry Single Review

Logan J. Parker is a singer songwriter living in London but originally from Portugal. Logan is also a producer, pianist and guitarist with sound steeped in 60's rock n' roll, soul and blues. She is also a part of the musical wing of Extinction Rebellion. Her influences include T Bone Walker, Amy Winehouse and Leonard Cohen. Whilst working in a bank job that she hated, Logan had a health scare which showed her that life is short and time can't be wasted doing something you hate so that's when her musical journey began. In 2016 she moved to London to compose her own music which she recorded in a fully solar powered studio and through her own independent company meaning that she owns all of the copyright to her music. Logan J. Parker - Blue Single Review

Logan J Parker is a singer songwriter from Portugal but currently residing in London. Just a couple of weeks ago I reviewed her single Cry Cry Cry and now she returns with her latest single Blue. About the song, Logan says " Blue is another sad song I wrote about the lockdown and it's dedicated to my mother and best friend Rita. Without her, I wouldn't be a musician." Watch the video here: Blue is a quirky upbeat jazz track and is Logan's first foray into the ukulele. The happy vibes of the music and Logan's vocal delivery masks the sadness in the lyrics.
